The theories behind Child-Centered Play Therapy are clear to most professionals in the field who have put them to use with the children they work with and encounter in their personal lives. The benefits and results are also easily observed by the trained professional. However, those who know little about these theories and this mode of therapy often struggle understanding how acceptance, empathy, and autonomy could lead to the healing of the children who have experienced different traumas and struggles. Getting this information across to parents and other professionals, like school officials and doctors, is quite the challenge! But it is a very important part of Child-Centered Play Therapy, as studies have shown that CCPT and consultation combined have better outcomes than CCPT alone. This DVD addresses those concerns and assists the watcher in developing new ways to communicate the CCPT theories and language to the important people who work and live with the children we see!
 
Jodi Ann Mullen, PhD LMHC NCC CCPT-S RPT-S is the Director of Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC. in Auburn, Cicero and Oswego, New York. She is associate professor at SUNY Oswego in the Counseling & Psychological Services Department where she is the coordinator of the Graduate Certificate Program in Play Therapy and coordinator of the Mental Health Counseling program. Dr. Mullen is a Credentialed Play Therapist and Play Therapy Supervisor. She has almost twenty years of experience working with children and parents.
 
June Rickli, MS LMHC CCPT-S RPT is the Assistant Director of Integrative Counseling Services, PLLC in Auburn, Cicero and Oswego, New York. She holds degrees from SUNY Oswego in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling. She is a Credentialed Play Therapist and Play Therapist Supervisor, and has presented workshops on Play Therapy throughout New York State. She is also an adjunct instructor in the Counseling & Psychological Services Department at SUNY Oswego.
