The fundamentals of sand play therapy will be demonstrated as the participants engage in an authentic learning experience.
Objectives:
- Explain the historical development of sand tray and sand play therapy.
- Identify the essential materials, environmental considerations, and structural components required to implement sand tray play therapy ethically and effectively.
- Describe the core principles, therapeutic functions, and symbolic processes that underlie sand tray interventions across developmental levels.
Demonstrate introductory/intermediate skills for facilitating sand tray sessions, including guidance, observation, and processing techniques.
Apply basic sand tray strategies to clinical scenarios involving children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, and group contexts.
