This 13-contact-hour in-person training (two full days, 8:30am–4:30pm each day,
including two 15-minute breaks and a one-hour lunch per day) provides foundational instruction in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) for licensed mental health counselors and social workers.
The training introduces the theoretical foundations of
CCPT grounded in person-centered theory and developmental principles. Participantswill examine the therapeutic function of play in promoting emotional expression, self-regulation, and relational growth.
Core components of CCPT will be presented, including the therapist’s stance,
structuring the therapeutic playroom, reflective responding, tracking, and therapeutic limit setting. Instruction will integrate didactic presentation, case discussion, and experiential skill practice to support practical application in school-based, outpatient, and community mental health settings.
